Bricklaying Day 12 - 14 October 2013

Well team PD have been working in between rain showers to get as much of the brick laying as quickly as they can. Below are lots of photos of progress to date.

Our vents have been installed ! We had an extra vent installed to cater for our master ensuite. PD usually install this into the roof cavity of the garage but we asked for an extra vent when we noted it on someone elses blog as something worth doing !!

Kitchen windows installed and bricked - our personal favourite part of the house ...

The glazier did a visit and installed our final double glazed dining room centre window.

Bricklaying Day Six - 8 October 2013

Well six days in and team PD are powering through the bricklaying. We have had a number of shipments of bricks as they get through each unload, a new batch arrive. It seems to be going up very quickly and Sunday was another big bricklaying day, YES they worked on a Sunday.

Over the door and window lintels

No need for a double take, yes these are different bricks. A tip, if you are going to render your home why use the more expensive brick. We selected the base range for where we will have rendered sections of the home which are still very nice bricks but without the $$$$$.

The other great news is the plaster boards arrived before access gets too difficult....

The view... our windows look like they will deliver what we hoped for as a view from the first floor. Can't wait to have the safety covers removed to see the full view.

Just what we were hoping for.....

Bricklaying Starts 3 October 2013

Well after some high winds and rain we finally got to see some bricks laid at our site. They seem to go up quite quickly when the set up and layout of bundles of bricks are finally finished. It is the first time that you get to see your colour choices up close and personal and on such a large scale, which is always a nervous moment, but luckily we were very happy with the colour choice and it is starting to look great.

To our surprise the centre glass double glazed windows were also installed on the 4th of October. Very nice...

and from the rear..

The side windows, as a feature in the kitchen, are looking good against the new brickwork.
